Tools & Services

Here below are links to some of the tools and services I use.

Cryptocurrencies

BitcoinHex – Link (Affiliate)

BitcoinHex is a new Cryptocurrency developed by Richard Heart running on the Ethereum network and using game theory to penalize whales and incentivise early adopters and stakers.

Exchanges

Coinbase (G-Dax) – Link (Affiliate)

Earn $10 worth of free Bitcoin when you purchase $100 of currency using the above link.
Started in June 2012 by Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrsam and based in San Francisco, California Coinbase are one of the largest and most established exchanges going. They also operate G-DAX which uses the same login details as Coinbase but it is aimed at professional and institutional investors and has much lower fees and currency can be freely and immediately transferred between Coinbase & G-DAX.
This is the exchange I use for purchasing Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Litecoin (LTC) using FIAT currencies (ie. GBP, USD etc).
Once you have these Crypto currencies you can then trade them for other assets on exchanges like Bittrex & Binance below. These exchanges only allow Crypto currencies to be bought with other Crypto currencies.

Bittrex – Link

Operated out of Las Vegas, Nevada, Bittrex are another of the top Crypto Exchanges. The have quite an extensive range of Crypto currencies although not as many as Binance below.

Binance – Link (Affiliate)

Started in July 2017 by Changpeng Zhao Binance are new to the market but very innovative. They are listed in Hong Kong but their servers are based in Korea. They have a very large number or currencies on their exchange and low fee especially if you pay them with their own currency Binance Coin (BNB).

HitBTC – Link (Affiliate)

Founded in 2013, operated out of Chicago and registered in Hong Kong HitBTC is not the largest of exchanges but they do have a large number of assets listed often well before the larger exchanges. Sometimes this can give you the option to “get in early”  buy into an asset at a lower price.

Market Information Websites

OnChainFX – Link

As of 7th Jan 2018 this site lists 63 currencies and although technically still a beta product it is a very useful site.

CoinMarketCap – Link

This website lists well over 1,300 currencies and tokens and contains a lot of detailed information include which Markets trade each currency/token and the daily and historic trading volumes.

Wallets

Ledger Nano S (Hardware Wallet) – Link (Affiliate)

The Ledger Nano S is probably the most widely used and trusted hardware wallet out there. The security keys used to protect your crypto assets are stored on the hardware of the wallet and never leave it. Transactions are authorized by have the wallet connected to a PC and entering a PIN code physically on the device to confirm identity. With this system even a compromised PC cannot have it wallets accessed as the device pin can only be entered with physical access to the device AND knowing the PIN. At the time of writing (Jan 2018) these device are in great demand and not available again from Ledger until March 2018. The link below however can be used to buy direct from Ledger (in France).
